What is your favorite restaurant at Inha University backgate town?

There are many universities in Korea and the locality around university brings a great deal of business. 

I'll introduce some popular restaurants at universities town, Korea.

1. Persian Palace in Seonggyungwan university

 The owner is an Iranian who studied in Hanyang university, Korea. He sometimes cooked curry to his friends and he opened this restaurant in 2002.

 This restaurant sell very Iranian hot curry~!
 It's all 10 steps and even 1~2 step is spicy like Kimchi!
 Rice cake also popular menu.
 Rice cake is baking rice like Nurungji.
 All ingrediants are imported from Iran and India.

2. 털보고된이 in Yonsei university

털보고된이 is 털보+고된이.

The owner is 털보(kkk) and 고된이 is 고등어(mackerel)+된장(doenjang).

고갈비백반 is the popular menu.

고갈비백반 is include mackerel, doenjang and lettuce.

You can mackerel wrapped in lettuce leaveseat like 삼겹살.

3. 성민양꼬치 in Seoul university

 

성민양꼬치 sell grilled mutton skewers.
성민 is the owner's son name. kk
This restaurant opened less than 2 years but it's very popular~
The owner is Korean-Chinese,
so they use Chinese spice '쯔란', offer variety Chinese food include Chinese beer '칭다오'.
The important thing is don't smell mutton fat when mutton is grilled.

4. 써꺼써꺼 in Busan university

써꺼써꺼 had introduced in MBC TV program.

This restaurant use only Korean chicken. It's one of their popularity reason.

Drumstick of chicken charcoal barbecue is the most popular menu.

Egg rice(알밥) also is popular menu~

There are 8 kinds of egg rice include cheese egg rice, tuna egg rice, mushroom egg rice and so on.

Good point of restaurants at Universities town are cheap than other restaurants and have unique menu.

Do you like Ramen?

I think Ramen is the best comfortable food.

Ramen is Japanese food and was introduced to Korea in 1986.
Nongshim company released Samyang Ramen (삼양라면) in 1986. 

I'll introduce the popular Ramen restaurant.

'그놈이라면' is placed around front gate of Ewha Womans University.

This restaurant was introduced at SBS 맛대맛 TV program.

This is menu.

Names of Ramen are very unusual~

↑ Look at the menu. The owner is witty~

It's a rice ball. The name is 거시기.

Isn't it funny? kkk

The name is unique but taste and shape is ordinary.

 

This is 매서운놈.

It's the best hot Ramen in this restaurant.

There are Ham and Tteok in this Ramen.

But it doesn't hot much~

The owner use special seasoning that they made it themseleves. Recipe is secret~

I like 잡놈. 잡놈 is sea food Ramen.

It tastes 짬뽕, so if you drink too much and fall ill, surely eat this Ramen~!

Bulgogi restaurants in Korea

Bulgogi is representative Korea food.

Bulgogi is one of the best-known Korean dishes among foreigners and is commonly translated as 'Korean barbecue'.

So I'll introduce some Bulgogi restaurats in Korea.

1. Bulgogi Brothers.

Bulgogi brothers are chain store at Wangsimni, Suwon, Ilsan, Myeongdong, Busan and so on.

We common think that Bulgogi should offer with noisy atmosphere,

drink soju and sit on the floor.

But this restaurant offers jazz music, wine or Korean traditional alcohol and sit on the chair~!

2. Hwanakji.

Hwanakji is located in Shinchon and Apgujeongdong.

This restaurant is decorated the Korean traditional straw mat and brick.

This is small octopus speciality store
but 'small octopus Bulgogi' is the most popular menu.

There are many universities around this restaurant and cheap,

so many people find that.

3. Kaehwaok

Kaehwaok is located in Apgujeongdong.

This is Korea food restaurant, but interior is modern and simple.

This restaurant sell not only Bulgogi but also Bossam with Makgeolli (rice wine).

4. Charcoal fire chicken and Bulgogi (숯불 닭불고기).

Charcoal fire chicken and Bulgogi restaurant's exterior looks shabby.

But this is the popular Bulgogi store in Chuncheon.

General Bulgogi is beef but this restaurant is made from chicken.

That atmosphere is always full of warmth~ :)

     If you travel Kangwondo, should definitely go there!

Passion 5 in Hannamdong

Do you have boy friend or girl friend?

(Unfortunately, I don't have.......... hahaha-_-;)

I'll introduce lovely restuarant. 'Passion 5' is dessert&bakery restaurant.

The restaurant sell dessert such as bread and cake in the 1st floor and you can eat at the 2nd floor. 

Do you konw that puddings?

These puddings are the most famous item that have been introduced in TV.

Their calories are 140cal, so people (especially women) find them.

Many restaurants copy this bottle shape these days, but Passion 5 is original~!

mango, blueberry, milk pudding (from the left side to the right)

mango and bluberry costs 3,500 won and milk costs 3,000 won.

 

 

There are wide variety of cakes from piece cake to big cake~

When you have to buy cake (birthday, special day, congratulations party), you surely go to Passion 5!

One of features is a wide and luxurious interior.

This restaurant is divided 4 sections : cafe, bakery,  patisserie, chocolate.

4 sections plus passion about customers = The name Passion 5

This interior is cozy and luxurious.

So I especially recommend here to couple~ :)

Oh, Do you know 'Baumkuchen'?

I don't kow about it before I eat. It's bread from Germany.

Baum means tree and Kuchen means cookie.

The cut side of Baumkuchen looks tree ring, so this is called Baumkuchen.

Du:pain in Hong-Dae

It's the second restaurant introduction in Hong-dae street.

'Du:pain' is the name.

Du:pain's meaning is bread in French. It's pronounced 뒤빵 in Korean, so people misunderstand its meaning as 뒷방. Because this restaurant is placed in back of cloth store. kkk

First, this restaurant exterior is decorated charming and sweet.

    

The inside interior is different from the outside.

Outside is cute and sweet but inside has more soft and cozy atmosphere.

  

Menu board also is cute :)

Menu board show real food picture, so it's helpful to choose menu.

Other restaurant's food picture is often difference between real and picture.

This restaurant has hamburg steak, egg rice, salad, sandwich, pizza and beverage.

It is 'half-cooked egg hamburg steak' and 'dupain sandwich'.

Steak is combination of western hamburg and Korean rice and sauce.

Bread of sandwich made it themselves!

It's egg rice. Doesn't it simple?

When you have no appetite, you can make this egg rice at home.

This store style is 'My home style'.

You can think this menu so simple that begrudged that money spent on this,

but you can feel as your home.

So you'll maybe recall your family and sweet home~

If you cross the street, you can see 'Mugwasu Mart'.

Enter the alley and go straight.

Then Du:pain is located opposite 'Be Sweet On' cafe.

The Place in Gwanghwamun

I'll introduce free atmosphere restaurant!

The Place has a comfortable environment.

The 1st floor of this restaurant is salad bar and counter.
The Place's order way is unusual.

You can choose salad, sandwich, beverage and main menu in 1st floor.
If you finish pay, you maybe get number. Then go upstairs and lay the number on the table.
This number helps that staff carry your food.

            ▲ It's hit sandwich menu, 'hot bacon&shrimp panini'. 7,200won.              

        

This restaurant main menu is comparatively simple.

Pasta, Pizza, Bread and Waffle.

The waffle is one of the my favorite food. I love Blueberry waffle.

It is served with maple syrup. Really goooooooood :)

If you pay additional cost 3,500won, can add ice cream in here.  

There also offers brunch menu until 3 p.m.

But brunch have no taste than other menu, pizza or pasta or waffle.

 The Place slogan is comfortable and new New York style dining restaurant.

How about enjoying New Yok style in Seoul? 

Ah, the 4th floor is The Steak House. A liitle expensive.... ^^...

Cocoichibanya in Times square, Yongdeungpo

Do you like curry? If you so, go to the Cocoichibanya.

This restaurant is Japanese curry specialty store that has overseas branches include Korea, USA, China, Taiwan and so on.

There are 5 branches in Korea. I have been to Timessquare store.

'Cocoichibanya' means 'This is the best house' in Japanese.

This restaurant offers diverse curry such as meat, vegetable, seafood and so on.

Meat, vegetable, seafood curry also have various.
The good thing about there is wide-ranging menu.

If you want to eat both vegetable and meat, you can make a choice topping.

Also you can order your rice amount.
Rice amount is the less, price is the cheaper!

If you're light eater, you can save and reduce garbage.

I like spinach curry. Though it seems strange, its taste is really gooooooooooood!

Spinach is good for health, too!

And customers can choose degree of hot.

There are total 12 stages from 'faint taste' to '10辛'.

I can never imagine taste of '10辛'... :-( !

  

Kharaagae salad also excellent. Kharaagae is Japanese fried chicken.

Cocoichibanya offers really curry that is loved by all customers from children to senior.

Daedo restaurant in Wangsimni

Korea food is becoming more and more famous.

So I'll recommend Korea food restaurant Daedo restaurant in Wangsimni. 

This is chain store that has branches in Yeouido, Bundang, Songdo and so on. (It has 19 branches in capital area!)

Wangsimni is head shop of 40 years´ tradition.

The external appearance of a restaurant is normal and ordinary, 
but many people always wait in line.
(This picture was taken at late night, so there are no people. Don't misunderstand!^^) 
One of reasons why this restaurant is popular that sirloin's taste and quality is very good.

You need not to hesitate about what to eat.

You try sirloin first, and surely eat kkakdugi fried rice.

Kkakdugi fried rice is the most representative menu that is loved by all customers.
